were ready when lightening struck and a mid-afternoon downpour turned into an all night drizzle. But
this is Sturgis. So we just had an extended WET T-SHIRT contest with everyone participating!
Today the jumping motocross guys were out in spectacular force. Arriving from all over the U.S., four
different jumpers took to the sky, performing aerial feats that brought shivers to my bones.
The Illumination Light Troupe again wowed the crowds. We thought one gal was going to torch
herself. But, as usual, she was really in control. No bad hair days today for these gals, anyway.
We again held the FAN VIP ticket raffle on the Miller Light Buffalo Chip Stage. This time we were
given about 15 minutes to talk to the crowds and were able to receive about $50 extra bucks for the
two charities. The crowds built to about 50 by the time we conducted the raffle. The leader of the
Illumination Light Troupe assisted us with the raffle. Though we got a picture of the winner, he got
away before we could get his name.
While taking pictures, my camera batteries went dead. Racing to the general store to buy batteries, I
was too late. There were no more batteries. A man walked out a Chipper, Darren Peck, gave me two
extra batteries for free. I could not let his generosity go unnoticed, so I offered him a libaton (that's
code for beer). We then gave him raffle tickets, donating $5 to the cause in his name. A true
lifesaver!
The lightening display was almost as spectacular as the bands. George Thorogood took to the stage
first, exhorting us to guzzle whiskey, scotch and beer. Where would the Sturgis Chip party be without
good ol' George making sure we partied hard.
Like yesterday, there were too many good pictures to post on one page. So we split the day into two
