ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROAD TRIP 2012
Fundraiser Benefiting The Kids Of El Oasis Orphanage
THIRD ANNUAL ROAD TRIP TO FEATURE
13-TIME BAJA 1000 CHAMP LARRY ROESELER
April 30, 2012 — Riverside, CA — Join motorcycling legends Malcolm
Smith and J.N. Roberts for the third annual Rocky Mountain Road Trip
2012. Like last year, the ride will be set on J.N. Robert's 1,400 acre
Montana ranch. Changing things up a bit this year, we asked the great
Larry Roeseler if he would ride with Malcolm, J.N. and the rest of the
RMRT'rs. Larry emphatically said yes. He has known Malcolm for more
than 40 years and is looking forward to joining us for four days of great
riding, great friends, and great memories!
Special Tribute to Edison Dye
This year we will be unveiling a permanent monument as a tribute to
Edison Dye, the man who brought motocross to America in the 1960s.
The first importer of Husqvarna, Edison provided both Malcolm and JN
their first Husqvarna 2-stroke motorcycles. AND THE REST IS HISTORY!
The industry owes an enormous debt of gratitude to the legacy Edison
Dye has left us. At the Saturday dinner the monument will be unveiled.
The following morning a special sunrise service will be held at Camp JN to
permanently set the Edison Dye Memorial.

Friday Night Campfire
This year we will be having dinner around the campfire on Camp JN.
Join Malcolm, JN and Larry as they share their stories, adventures and
fond memories of Edison, each other and the sport we all love. We will
cook up hamburgers with the fixins', and enjoy each others company
instead of just going out to dinner.
Ride On Any Sunday
For those who stay through Sunday, you will be able to join Malcolm,
JN and Larry for a memorable Sunday morning ride on JN's ranch.
Live "On Any Sunday!"
About The Ride
JN Roberts and Malcolm Smith are two of the greatest ambassadors in
the history off-road racing, having won the very first Baja 1000 in
1967, countless desert races, numerous ISDE medals, international
rallies and many more achievements too numerous to list. In addition
to the single-track trails through woods and river crossings, JN has a
2.5 mile motocross track. Although this is a working ranch, it is
motorcycle friendly… Instead of opening gates, JN has fitted his ranch
with ramps to jump over the cow fences. Joining in the festivities will be
JN’s son, Jimmy Roberts and the El Oasis Orphanage Marketing
Director, Daniel Ixcot.
Early Registration and Reservation
As in year's past, this is a first-come-first-serve event. Space will be
limited to just 30 riders. About fifteen spots have already been
reserved. Pre-registration is now open. For a non-refundable $100
deposit, you may reserve your space on Rocky Mountain Road Trip
2012. Paypal accepted. For more information and to register for the
ride contact Jim Filanc 951-966-3150 or jim@racingforlife.org.

About The Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation
Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation commitment is to orphaned
children in communities that champion motorsports events. We
endeavor to provide these children with not only the basic necessities
of life; food, clothing, shelter, education, water, but to encourage their
growth in the arts, the sciences, the trades, and to encourage them
and provide for them through university level education.
It also gives the motorsport community the benefit of making their
contributions tax deductible. “When we began at El Oasis, the first
children to arrive were small, ages 2-4 years old. Today those children
are entering high school and university. It is our goal to provide a
higher education for these children, to assure their self-sufficiency and
to give them the tools they need to be leaders in Baja.” — Joyce and
Malcolm Smith
Objectives: Assist in building schools, classrooms, laboratories, and
libraries for orphanages and poor communities; Assist in constructing
wells to provide potable water; Construction and repair of housing;
Teaching, and training of community representative to assist in

About El Oasis Orphanage
El Oasis is located in Valle de Trinidad, between Ensenada and San
Felipe in Baja, Mexico. El Oasis is home for orphan and abandoned
kids since 1997. Our kids live in homes, each home has a father and a
mother figure (a married couple) and one aunt (as single woman),
giving the kids a stable family life. Our main goal is to send all our kids
to university or a trade school, where they can learn and became
valuable members of their communities. With your help we’ll continue
changing the lives of the children in Mexico.
